Overview

In this role you will lead the technical and operational delivery for a key Central London site, ensuring safety, compliance and contract performance. You’ll partner with the client and senior internal teams to drive operational improvements, uphold service levels, and deliver high customer satisfaction. You will shape the contract’s technical strategy, manage PPM and risk, and maintain accurate documentation and asset registers. The opportunity offers impact across safety, compliance, and service delivery at scale within a renowned facilities management context.

Responsibilities

  • Lead health & safety and ensure safe working practices across the engineering team
  • Maintain service levels in collaboration with Contract Support and Helpdesk
  • Provide technical leadership and drive contract development to meet/exceed obligations
  • Support Helpdesk to achieve high customer satisfaction
  • Maintain strong client relationships and attend monthly meetings
  • Ensure statutory and code compliance site-wide
  • Oversee PPM planning and ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines and HVCA SFG20
  • Own P&L related activities including WIP, debt, forecasting and budget control
  • Lead engineering teams, plan development and succession
  • Produce weekly client/management reports and manage documentation
  • Manage procurement of materials and specialist services
  • Investigate operational incidents and prepare detailed reports
  • Ensure audits, quality control, PPE compliance and professional image of staff
  • Deliver quotations with labour and supplier details and escalate improvements to service provision
  • Maintain logbooks and KPI-driven performance reviews
  • Maintain regular communication with engineering team and contractors
  • Support additional works and variations through quoting and project progression
  • Ensure callouts are responded to with Helpdesk coordination
  • Deliver toolbox talks and promote a strong safety culture

Key requirements

  • Strong technical background in electrical or mechanical engineering (HNC or above)
  • Recognised electrical or mechanical technical qualification
  • ILM Level 3 or equivalent leadership qualification
  • Extensive experience in critical environments (data centres, financial services, healthcare, etc.)
  • Proven experience delivering hard FM services on a complex site
  • Demonstrable experience leading engineering teams
  • Solid knowledge of building services plant and systems (HVAC, electrical distribution, BMS, mechanical plant)
  • Excellent communication and client engagement skills
  • Competence in managing PPM, reactive maintenance, statutory compliance and safe systems of work
