Overview

In this role you will service, maintain and repair commercial gas systems across the Northwest, supporting a growing mechanical and building services team. You will work on boilers, plant rooms, and gas pipework with a strong emphasis on safety, compliance and customer service. The position offers hands-on technical work with opportunities for progression within the company. You will contribute to reliable heating solutions for commercial and public-sector sites, while developing your expertise through on-the-job and formal training.

Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain and repair commercial gas appliances and heating systems
  • Diagnose and rectify faults on commercial boilers and related plant
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown works
  • Install and modify commercial gas pipework and equipment
  • Work in plant rooms and boiler rooms
  • Conduct gas safety checks, testing and commissioning
  • Handle fault finding on controls and electrical components where capable
  • Complete service reports and certification accurately
  • Liaise professionally with customers and colleagues on site
  • Ensure work complies with Health & Safety procedures
  • Participate in emergency callouts
  • Maintain tools, equipment, vehicle and PPE to standard

Key requirements

  • Commercial Gas qualifications – NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent (stated)
  • Current Gas Safe registration with commercial competencies
  • Experience with commercial boilers and heating systems
  • Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Experience with commercial gas pipework
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Professional approach and customer service skills
  • Additional qualifications such as LPG, Gas Boosters, 18th Edition, BMS or electrical experience advantageous but not essential
