Overview

In this role, you will lead clinical governance to sustain safe, high-quality care at our Brighton hospital. You will partner with clinical directors and senior leaders to drive evidence-based improvements and ensure regulatory alignment. You will analyse incidents, audits, and patient feedback to close loop gaps, and report on progress to leadership. You will shape local and national policy, contribute to accreditation efforts, and provide governance expertise across care teams. Responsibilities

  • Champion brand values across the hospital
  • Drive continuous improvement of clinical services through data-driven change
  • Appraise audit data and outcomes to enable meaningful improvements
  • Analyse incidents and complaints with a focus on closing the loop
  • Drive and embed the Hospital Quality Improvement Plan
  • Listen to patients and service users to inform care
  • Produce monthly/quarterly/annual performance reports
  • Engage senior leadership to inform risk and opportunities
  • Ensure regulatory alignment and patient safety initiatives
  • Manage the hospital risk register with a focus on risk reduction
  • Inform and develop local and national policy
  • Provide governance expertise to clinical leadership
  • Maintain contributions to PROMs, NJR, UKHSA surveillance
  • Provide infection prevention leadership or coordinate with the hospital lead
  • Provide health & safety leadership or coordinate with the hospital lead
  • Support ISO9001 and related accreditation efforts

Key requirements

  • Registered healthcare professional (NMC)
  • Educated to degree or postgraduate level in a clinical discipline
  • Experience in clinical governance and quality assurance
  • Strong communication and attention to detail
  • Ability to develop relationships, influence change, and deliver results
  • ISO9001 auditor or equivalent is valuable but not essential
