Overview
In this role you will lead pharmaceutical manufacturing operations at Ipsen’s Wrexham site to ensure safe, compliant and efficient production. You’ll shape high-performing teams, drive continuous improvement, and secure reliable supply of high-quality medicines. Responsibilities
- Lead manufacturing operations to meet safety, quality, cost, and supply targets
- Own GMP compliance, audit readiness, and quality risk management within the department
- Drive production performance through effective resource planning, KPI management, and issue resolution
- Lead, develop, and engage Shift Managers, Team Leaders, and Operators to build high-performing teams
- Champion continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and operational excellence initiatives
- Manage departmental budgets, costs, and capacity to align with business objectives
Key requirements
- Significant pharmaceutical manufacturing leadership experience with a track record of safe, compliant operations
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and manage teams to meet deadlines and performance targets
- Experience in budget and cost control within manufacturing environments
- Hands-on experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and process optimisation
- Strong working knowledge of GMP, QMS, RCA/CAPA, and regulatory audit environments
