Overview

In this role you will lead a global team delivering enterprise networking, voice, and audiovisual services across offices, data centres, and remote sites. You will ensure service availability, performance, security, and continual improvement within a large, multi-region environment. You will partner with cybersecurity, manage carriers and service providers, and guide major incident response and operational planning. This is a hands-on leadership role shaping reliable global communications infrastructure within a regulated, enterprise setting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a global team responsible for network, voice, UC, conferencing and audiovisual services.
  • Oversee enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, internet, data centre networking and remote site connectivity.
  • Manage routers, switches, wireless infra, SD-WAN platforms and related management tech.
  • Oversee data centre networks (leaf-spine, VXLAN, EVPN, routing, HA) and inter-data centre connectivity.
  • Maintain reliable connectivity among data centres, offices, partners, customer locations and remote sites.
  • Oversee DNS, DHCP, IPAM and time services as foundational network services.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity on firewalls, secure remote access, VPN and NAC.
  • Lead enterprise voice and telecoms services, including Teams Phone or similar, SIP, carriers, numbers, voicemail and emergency calling.
  • Oversee meeting room and audiovisual services, conferencing, signage and room control systems; set operational standards.
  • Provide capacity, performance and service health reporting for availability and quality metrics.
  • Lead major incident response with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Manage carriers, circuit providers, audiovisual integrators, manufacturers and MSPs.
  • Support budgets, capex planning, licensing, renewals and cost optimization.
  • Provide operational leadership for migrations, openings/closures, data centre activity, acquisitions, divestitures and enterprise separation.

Key requirements

  • Extensive experience managing enterprise network and communications services in large, regulated environments.
  • Experience leading geographically distributed infrastructure teams.
  • Strong knowledge of routing, switching, wireless, WAN, internet and data centre networking.
  • Proficiency with Cisco Catalyst, Nexus and Meraki, or comparable platforms.
  • Experience with SD-WAN, carrier networks, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN, QoS, DNS, DHCP and IPAM.
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams Phone, Cisco collaboration technologies or similar voice platforms.
  • Experience managing telecommunications carriers and audiovisual service partners.
  • Understanding of enterprise audiovisual technologies and meeting room standards.
  • Strong IT service management, including major incident, problem management and risk.
  • Strong communication skills for senior stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience in regulated sectors (government, aerospace, defence) is advantageous.
