Health , Safety and Wellbeing Advisor

Overview

In this Health & Safety Advisor role, you will support a major civil engineering project delivered by a Tier 1 contractor. You will help maintain a culture of safety, ensure site compliance, and assist in developing safety plans and campaigns. The position involves investigating incidents, coordinating training needs, and supporting the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager to keep projects on track. This opportunity offers hands-on impact on a high-profile infrastructure program and a chance to influence safety practices on a large site.

Responsibilities

• Support site teams to ensure compliance with project plans
• Follow up on inspection outcomes across HMJV sites
• Help develop and implement Health, Safety and Wellbeing campaigns
• Assist investigations of near misses and incidents
• Identify training needs for the project team
• Produce Health and Safety plans, procedures and documentation
• Assist in obtaining required permits or exemptions
• Maintain Health and Safety documentation and records
• Provide reports and information to the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager
• Assist in developing site/office inductions
• Escalate issues to the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager
• Disseminate HMJV communications to employees

Key requirements

• Relevant qualification in Health and Safety or previous experience in a similar role
• Sound knowledge of tunnel construction methods
• Problem solving and ability to manage tight deadlines
