Overview
In this role you will lead environmental inputs to EIA processes for infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland, shaping project strategy and delivering high-quality assessments. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve environmental outcomes, support client relationships, and drive growth of AECOM’s environmental services. You’ll engage across project lifecycles—from feasibility to construction—on high-impact developments that support net-zero goals. Responsibilities
- Manage environmental inputs to EIA screening, scoping, and Environmental Statements, including review of specialist chapters
- Oversee lifecycle of projects from strategy through construction and operation, across multiple consenting regimes (DCO, TCPA, TWA, hybrid Bill)
- Ensure deliverables meet high quality standards and quality management procedures
- Apply project management to resources and budgets with appropriate support
- Collaborate within integrated design teams to identify constraints, mitigation, and opportunities for benefits
- Manage client relationships and liaise with internal supply teams
- Identify and lead business development opportunities and develop technical proposals
- Promote AECOM’s environmental services to internal and external audiences
Key requirements
- Environmental & Planning Expertise
- Strong knowledge of EIA, environmental assessment methods, planning legislation, and relevant consenting and licensing regimes
- Experience with DCO and/or TWAO is a plus
- Experience delivering consultancy services with strong project management skills (programming, resourcing, budgeting)
- Ability to coordinate specialist technical inputs effectively
- Excellent verbal and report-writing skills with stakeholder engagement ability
- Degree in a relevant environmental discipline; Masters preferred and professional membership; Chartered Environmentalist status advantageous
