Overview

As a Mine Water Specialist at SLR, you will support an expanding pipeline of mining projects by delivering integrated water management solutions. You will join a multidisciplinary Mine Water team and collaborate with senior consultants across Europe and beyond to support studies from feasibility through closure. You drive technical analysis, reporting, and client engagement while mentoring others and helping shape team direction. Responsibilities

  • Deliver integrated water management solutions for mining projects across lifecycle (feasibility to closure)
  • Provide specialist input to studies (Design & Feasibility, ESIA, Due Diligence, Operational Improvements, Closure planning)
  • Manage project delivery aspects: enquiry handling, client liaison, workshops, site visits, technical reporting, QA/QC
  • Contribute to strategic direction of the team and mentor staff
  • Keep up with technical innovations and ensure compliance with best practice and legislation impacting water management
  • Collaborate with cross-office teams across Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, and the Americas
  • Travel as required to project sites and client meetings

Key requirements

  • Experience in hydrology and water resource engineering within mining projects
  • Strong technical and numerical skills; proficiency with water modelling packages and analytical approaches
  • Excellent communication skills for reporting, graphics, presentations, and workshops
  • Knowledge of climate characterization, rainfall estimation, stormwater management, flood hydrology, water balance, and water infrastructure planning
  • Driving licence valid in the UK
  • Chartered or eligible professional registration is desirable (e.g., CEng, CEnv, CSci)
