Overview

In this role you will lead day-to-day site operations on a major water treatment upgrade in London within an AMP8 framework. You will oversee safety, programme, commercial and quality, directing a site team and supply chain on a technically complex project. You will work with clients and stakeholders to align on design information, scope changes, and progress reporting. This position offers hands-on leadership in a high-impact water infrastructure delivery programme and opportunities to shape site execution and risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day site operations and supervise the site team and supply chain
  • Plan, monitor and control the programme across multiple work packages
  • Own costs for allocated section in collaboration with commercial team
  • Capture and manage scope changes across operations, commercial, programme and design
  • Conduct regular H&S checks and CDM audits; ensure RAMS, Permit to Work and inductions
  • Attend client and stakeholder meetings and build effective relationships
  • Ensure works follow the latest design information with strict quality control
  • Identify temporary works and implement value engineering solutions
  • Report progress and performance to Project Manager and assist with cost forecasting
  • Lead and develop direct reports; conduct annual PDRs and monitor competency

Key requirements

  • HNC or higher in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
  • SMSTS
  • CSCS
  • EUSR National Water Hygiene
  • EUSR 1 & 2
  • Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC)
  • First Aid
  • Fire Marshal
  • Proven experience managing multiple or large packages of civil works on live sites
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and CDM 2015 regulations
  • Commercial awareness with cost, programme and change management
  • Experience of M&E works on water or utilities projects
  • Water industry background with treatment works experience advantageous
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and schedules
  • Strong leadership, delegation and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Office 365; CAD familiarity an advantage
