Overview
In this role you will provide technical safety support for submarine and underwater-system projects, helping ensure safety, compliance and timely delivery. You will work with UK submarine programs to align safety activities with regulations and client needs, influencing design and practice. Responsibilities
- Provide technical safety support for submarine and underwater-system projects
- Support delivery to schedule, quality, and budget while complying with UK legislation and standards
- Develop and manage hazard logs; facilitate HAZID and hazard reviews
- Author safety assessment reports and safety cases, including ALARP justification
- Advise on safety documentation and regulatory compliance for naval programs
- Support professional accreditation pathways (IEng/CEng) and knowledge development
Key requirements
- Experience with operation and/or maintenance of Royal Navy submarines and equipment (desirable)
- Knowledge of safety documentation and UK MOD safety approaches (DSA, Naval Authority Certification, SDA) (desirable)
- Ability to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance (SC)
- Strong communication skills and customer-facing experience
- Understanding of safety legislation and compliance management
- Self-motivated with proactive attitude towards learning and accreditation
