EHS Process Manager (FAR)

Overview

In this role you provide full-time environmental health and safety support to the business, ensuring UK regulatory compliance and driving the ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 frameworks. You lead EHS program delivery, audits, and continuous improvement, partnering with site and leadership to embed safe, compliant practices. You will develop and coordinate the EHS roadmap and action plans, shaping a safer, more sustainable operation. This position offers impact across maintenance/engineering environments in a high-profile aviation setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, maintain and continuously improve EHS management systems
• Provide daily EHS guidance to employees and supervisors to ensure consistent practice
• Advise line management on health, safety and environmental matters and integrate advice into operations
• Identify environmental aspects and safety hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement controls
• Facilitate risk assessments (general, manual handling, COSHH, fire) and serve as final authority for specialist inputs
• Maintain and update SOPs for safe work practices and equipment; use in training
• Coordinate EHS training programs, orientations, and emergency response activities
• Audit operations to ensure effective EHS implementation and compliance
• Develop EHS communication strategy for staff at all levels
• Ensure regulatory inspections and accreditation bodies are coordinated with minimal deficiencies
• Collaborate with site and corporate leadership on EHS activities
• Maintain records for EHS management system and regulatory requirements
• Assist with Business Continuity and Emergency Response plans and procedures
• Review accidents/incidents, manage internal audits and CAPA actions
• Conduct occupational health and safety surveys and coordinate yearly EHS action plan and longer-term roadmap
• Monitor and ensure compliance of permit-to-work and contractor control systems
• Travel domestically and internationally as required
• Perform other duties as assigned

Key requirements

• NEBOSH Certificate
• Experience in an EHS leadership role in maintenance or engineering
• Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
• Proven experience in environmental and sustainability reporting
• Lead auditor capability and ability to drive continuous improvement
• Experience with ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and related legislation
• Occupational health and safety and environmental degree or equivalent experience with training
