Overview

In this role you will support the New Business & Conflicts team by identifying and resolving potential conflicts arising from new client and matter intake, as well as AML/KYC obligations. You will be the first point of analysis for conflicts searches and client due diligence, collaborating with global offices. This is a foundational risk-management position with exposure to a broad client base in tech and life sciences and clear development potential within a leading global law firm. The role offers a hybrid work schedule and opportunities to contribute to process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct conflict of interest searches for new client intake, new matters, and hires using the conflicts database and third-party research tools
  • Analyze search results to identify potential conflicts and select relevant hits
  • Perform corporate research (entity structure, ownership, affiliates) and AML/KYC checks on prospective clients in line with firm policy and regulatory requirements
  • Process new client and matter intake requests with accurate entry of client, matter, and billing information
  • Liaise with attorneys, billing, and other admin teams to gather information needed to clear and open new clients and matters
  • Support process improvements and participate in special projects related to new business intake and conflicts

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in law firm conflicts, risk, or business intake preferred
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, professional interaction with attorneys and staff
  • Sound independent judgment and issue escalation ability
  • High accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage high-volume workload, work under time pressure, and maintain confidentiality
