Senior Cost Consultant – Cities & Places

Overview

In this role, you will lead cost-focused delivery within Mace’s Cities & Places sector, shaping projects from homes to major programmes for government and private clients. You’ll drive value through cost planning, procurement, and KPI achievement, while advancing sustainability and net-zero goals. You will mentor teams, foster innovation, and embed continuous improvement to deliver high-quality outcomes. This is a client-centric, impact-led position where your work helps create thriving, future-proofed communities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver client-focused outcomes through cost planning, procurement, and KPI achievement
• Manage feasibility studies, procurement strategies, and contract selection with robust reporting and compliance
• Lead estimating, cost planning, and valuations and present financial reports to stakeholders
• Oversee contracts, claims, and completion processes to drive successful project outcomes
• Mentor teams, champion continuous improvement and support net-zero carbon transition across delivery activities

Key requirements

• Degree in quantity surveying or cost management
• MRICS/RICS or equivalent membership, progressing toward fellowship
• Proven consulting experience with strong commercial and financial acumen
• Expertise in value engineering, sustainability, and stakeholder management within diverse teams
