Overview
In this role you will provide technical procurement advisory services for waste infrastructure and environmental services projects, guiding delivery teams and contributing to proposals. You will mentor junior staff, engage with clients and stakeholders, and help expand the team’s advisory offerings. You’ll work on diverse procurement exercises, develop business cases, and drive service improvements with a focus on value, efficiency, and client satisfaction. Responsibilities
- Manage projects to time, budget, and client satisfaction using internal procedures
- Provide technical input across resources and waste projects, including drafting reports
- Participate in client meetings from inception to final reporting with diverse stakeholders
- Lead or support proposal development to ensure high quality and competitiveness
- Develop services and methodologies that are robust, time- and cost-efficient, and client-focused
- Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients to grow the pipeline
Key requirements
- First degree in a relevant subject (science, environment, or engineering)
- Experience in environmental and waste services or infrastructure procurement for local authorities
- Experience developing or contributing to technical specifications, method statements, performance frameworks, tenders, pricing schedules, and payment mechanisms
- Experience with competitive dialogue and/or competitive procedures with negotiation
- Understanding of UK resources and waste legislation and policy
- Experience working with Council Officers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
