Overview
As EHS Manager at the Witney site, you will shape and deliver the site’s EHS strategy to enable safe, compliant and sustainable growth. You will act as a trusted business partner to senior leaders, embedding EHS into operations, R&D and capital projects. You’ll lead a multidisciplinary EHS team and drive a proactive safety culture that supports operational excellence and employee wellbeing. This role offers strategic influence across Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Support Functions, with tangible impact on risk reduction and compliance. You’ll join a regulated, complex environment where your leadership translates strategy into measurable safety and business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Strategic leadership: develop and deliver the site’s EHS strategy aligned with business priorities
- Act as trusted advisor to senior leaders on EHS risks and opportunities
- Embed EHS into operational plans, growth initiatives and change programmes
- Lead and develop the EHS team to build capability and succession
- Oversee compliance programs, audits, inspections and continuous improvement
- Provide governance and assurance for EHS management systems and performance metrics
- Lead risk assessment, incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Ensure emergency preparedness and business continuity arrangements
- Support capital projects, facility modifications and expansions with EHS input
- Promote a high-performing safety culture that emphasises wellbeing and excellence
Key requirements
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent professional health and safety qualification
- Significant EHS leadership experience in manufacturing, medical device, pharmaceutical or similarly regulated industries
- Experience leading and developing professional teams
- Strong understanding of UK environmental, health and safety legislation
- Proven experience managing compliance programmes, regulatory inspections and audits
- Strong risk management, incident investigation and governance experience
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience supporting operational excellence, capital projects and business transformation initiatives
