AWM Controls Strategy & Innovation (CSI) – AI Controls Enablement Associate

Overview

In this role you help translate complex AI risks into practical controls across governance, technology, and business. You will partner with senior Controls leadership and stakeholders to identify risks, design scalable control solutions, and strengthen the AI control environment. You will act as a coach and gatekeeper, making technical AI concepts understandable and actionable to drive responsible AI adoption. This is a high-visibility role that shapes how AI-enabled controls are developed and deployed across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Translate AI risk into actionable control findings within a controls framework
• Partner with Controls, Technology, and business to identify risks and design scalable solutions
• Conduct joint risk reviews with Control Managers and coach on controls findings
• Develop and implement robust controls to safeguard operations and meet regulatory requirements
• Communicate complex AI concepts to senior stakeholders and influence adoption
• Collaborate with senior leadership and business stakeholders to drive organizational change
• Prepare executive-level communications and contribute to strategic risk governance

Key requirements

• Experience in risk or control management within financial services, focusing on compliance and operational risk mitigation
• Technical AI fluency including understanding models, assumptions, limitations, and failure modes
• Ability to translate complex AI behavior into documented, actionable risk findings within a controls framework
• Capability to implement robust controls to safeguard business operations and meet regulatory requirements
• Proficiency in process and data analysis to enhance control environments and interpret business needs
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to collaborate with senior leadership and business partners
• Strong project management skills and commitment to operational excellence
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio with ability to develop executive presentations
