Partner/Director – Private Client

Overview

In this role you will lead and grow a high‑performing Private Client practice in Birmingham, shaping strategy for a nationally recognised team. You will serve UHNW clients and families, delivering sophisticated guidance on wills, trusts, probate and LPAs while collaborating across property, corporate and family law. You will mentor junior lawyers, drive business development, and raise the regional profile of the firm. This is a leadership opportunity with a strong platform to influence practice growth and client service in the West Midlands.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Private Client practice in Birmingham
• Deliver high-level advisory services on wills and estate planning, trusts and succession planning, probate and estate administration, LPAs
• Build long-term relationships with high-net-worth individuals and landed estates, domestically and internationally
• Collaborate with property, corporate, and family teams to deliver integrated solutions
• Mentor and develop junior lawyers and promote a culture of excellence
• Lead and participate in business development to raise the team’s regional profile

Key requirements

• Extensive experience advising high-net-worth clients on complex private client matters
• Operating at, or ready for, Partner or Director level
• Commercial acumen and a strategic mindset for practice development
• Strong network in Birmingham or the West Midlands (preferred but not essential)
