Senior Civil & Structural Engineer

Overview

As a Senior Civil & Structural Engineer, you will support onshore wind, solar PV and BESS projects in an Owner’s Engineer/Technical Advisor capacity. You’ll review designs, supervise construction, and provide project support across the renewable energy lifecycle. You’ll work with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders to ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery. This role offers visibility across UK projects and the chance to shape large-scale renewable installations.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction phase inspections (foundation pre-pour and post-pour) and site supervision
• Assist project administration: client meetings, progress reporting, technical query management
• Review BoP civil infrastructure designs (access tracks, hardstands, foundations, control buildings, etc.)
• Support health & safety management: RAMS, CEMP, TMP reviews
• Manage project QA and document control across multiple projects
• Support Project Managers with contract administration, payment assessments, and variations
• Develop 2D/3D renewable energy layouts using industry design software
• Assist with project management activities: forecasting, invoicing, resource planning
• Support preparation of proposals, bids, and tender submissions
• Contribute to multidisciplinary project teams across development, design, construction, operations and decommissioning

Key requirements

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering
• Experience in design and construction of renewable energy projects
• Basic knowledge of GIS, InfraWorks and AutoCAD
• Site-based construction experience
• Understanding of CDM Regulations and Health & Safety requirements
• Understanding of civil construction methodologies and reinforcement detailing
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively across the UK
