Procurement Category Manager – Technology

Overview

As part of the Technology & Telecommunications Procurement team, you will deliver business and commercial value within IT spend globally. You’ll lead RFPs, negotiate SOWs and master agreements, and influence senior stakeholders. You’ll engage with IT vendors, service integrators, and telecom players on large-scale projects. This role sits at the intersection of technology, strategy and procurement, offering exposure to transformative programs in a collaborative, hybrid environment. You will help shape cost efficiency and supplier relationships across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute global sub-category plans for IT and Telco, driving cost savings and innovation.
• Maintain market insight to advise on best practices and vendor fit for WPP’s needs.
• Lead sourcing initiatives (e.g., RFPs) and provide commercial guidance to influence decisions.
• Create and implement supplier relationship management plans and preferred supplier policies.
• Collaborate within the wider WPP Procurement team and participate in matrixed projects.

Key requirements

• Proven IT procurement experience with leadership of complex, high-value RFPs in a global context.
• Strong contract and SOW drafting skills with hands-on negotiation capability.
• Experience managing large IT supplier relationships and influencing senior leaders.
• Solid project management skills and ability to work with matrixed and offshore teams.
