Avionics Engineering Support

Overview

In this role you will provide engineering and technical support for Hybrid SATCOM and avionics across multiple aircraft. You will work with cross‑functional teams to integrate, test, and sustain airborne systems, delivering secure, reliable communications for mission operations. You will analyze complex issues, develop avionics solutions, and guide junior engineers to ensure system performance and interoperability. This position offers meaningful impact in modernization, testing, and verification efforts within defense and government aviation programs.

Responsibilities

• Support integration, testing, and sustainment of Hybrid SATCOM and avionics across multiple aircraft platforms
• Assist with integration of SATCOM terminals, RF systems, antennas, interfaces, mission equipment, and aircraft networks
• Troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions for avionics, SATCOM, RF, and airborne communications
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation (interface control documents, wiring diagrams, test procedures, technical reports)
• Support lab, ground, and flight testing to verify system performance, interoperability, and readiness
• Coordinate with systems, electrical, RF, software, and network engineering teams for end-to-end integration
• Ensure compliance with aviation, cybersecurity, airworthiness, and engineering standards
• Analyze system performance data andRecommend engineering improvements for reliability and mission effectiveness
• Participate in technical reviews, customer meetings, and program briefings to communicate status and risks
• Support configuration management, requirements traceability, and engineering change activities across the lifecycle

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience
• Experience with airborne communication systems integration, avionics troubleshooting, verification and validation, and technical documentation development
• Knowledge of Hybrid SATCOM architectures, RF systems, avionics interfaces, aircraft integration processes, and mission communication systems
• Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with geographically dispersed teams
