Overview

In this role you will lead and continuously improve procurement strategy to maximise value for residents and stakeholders. You will work with budget holders and suppliers to drive compliant, efficient procurement across goods, services and contracts. You will advise on procurement governance and extend social value through purchasing decisions. The role supports the organisation’s strategic objectives and requires collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement. A hybrid-working, impact-driven opportunity with cross-site interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and continuously improve the procurement strategy
  • Lead end-to-end procurement exercises from planning to contract award with compliance to policies and legislation
  • Provide expert guidance on procurement regulations, governance and best practice
  • Support delivery of social value objectives through procurement activities
  • Partner with colleagues to understand business needs and develop procurement solutions
  • Identify opportunities to achieve efficiencies, reduce costs and improve service quality
  • Strengthen contract management arrangements and promote accountability and transparency

Key requirements

  • Significant experience of managing procurement activity in a complex organisation
  • Strong knowledge of housing, public sector or regulated procurement requirements (Procurement Act 2023)
  • Ability to interpret and apply procurement legislation and governance requirements
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
