Overview
In this role you will manage the commercial aspects of a major 400kV overhead line project in Scotland. You will work with project teams and the wider commercial group to control costs, prepare forecasts and manage contracted payments. The role supports procurement, contract reviews and change control within NEC frameworks, contributing to the delivery of a long-term infrastructure programme. You will build strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners and mentor junior commercial staff. This is a hands-on, impact-driven opportunity within a leading contractor.

Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial aspects of allocated projects and work packages
- Prepare cost reports, forecasts and financial reconciliations
- Manage valuations, applications and payments
- Review and negotiate contracts, rates, prices, variations and compensation events
- Oversee subcontractor performance and commercial compliance
- Support the preparation of claims and commercial submissions
- Analyse tender information and support procurement activities
- Monitor commercial performance, risks and opportunities
- Build strong relationships with customers, project teams and supply chain partners
- Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team
Key requirements
- Proven background in major infrastructure projects
- Experience working under NEC contracts
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts, commercial management and change control
- Ability to collaborate with operational teams, clients and supply chain
- Experience across sectors such as Rail, Highways, Utilities or Energy
