Overview
In this role you drive the Finance transformation agenda, leading a portfolio of change initiatives that enhance processes, data and customer experience. You will coordinate delivery across Finance and wider Professional Services, bridging strategic aims with practical delivery and building capability in digital improvements, automation, and AI. You’ll identify opportunities for innovation and contribute to a modern, data-driven Finance function in a collaborative university setting.

Responsibilities
- Lead planning, coordination and governance of the Finance transformation portfolio and maintain the roadmap
- Coordinate delivery across multiple projects and workstreams
- Manage portfolio governance, risks, issues, dependencies and reporting
- Support prioritisation and resource planning decisions
- Track delivery progress, outcomes and benefits realisation
- Support development of business cases and investment proposals
- Develop stakeholder engagement and change-management approaches
- Facilitate workshops and service-design activities
- Lead process reviews and identify opportunities for simplification
- Promote continuous improvement across Finance
- Support training, adoption and embedding of new ways of working
- Ensure operational teams are engaged in transformation and service redesign activities
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of digital improvement opportunities
- Identify opportunities for automation, AI and process optimisation
- Support delivery of Finance’s digital and AI roadmap
- Evaluate emerging technologies and their relevance to Finance
- Track benefits delivered through digital transformation initiatives

- Ensure policy and regulatory standards are met by activities, processes and transactions
- Provide subject matter expertise and advice on data and operational performance
- Instigate and manage business process reviews to improve services
- Meet professional development needs of stakeholders and provide training

- Manage quality and regulatory audits of systems and procedures
- Support staff welfare and employment through professional guidance
- Contribute to operational leadership, planning and budgeting across the area
- Oversee large-scale initiatives and short-term project teams
- Analyze service level data and recommend improvements
- Allocate and monitor budgets and resources
- Design communications to promote engagement with Finance Service
- Influence University policy and standards via meetings and steering groups
- Represent Finance Service at promotional events and in internal/external networks
- Identify opportunities to participate in special interest groups
- Perform other reasonable duties
Key requirements
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
- Significant experience leading portfolios, programmes or complex business change initiatives with strategic influence
- Experience advising on programmes, projects and change-management to diverse customers and colleagues
- Experience developing and participating in networks to share practice and influence reputation
- Experience implementing policies and enabling service improvements
- Strong programme and project management capabilities with multiple concurrent workstreams
- Experience translating strategic objectives into deliverable plans and milestones
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills with internal and external relationship building
- Strong digital competence across Oracle Fusion, Power Platform, Microsoft 365
- Commitment to continuing professional development and professional recognition
- Extensive knowledge of regulatory compliance and organisational policy
