Overview
In this Senior Consultant role, you deliver high‑quality regulatory guidance to clients in regulated sectors, leading workstreams or handling smaller assignments with clear, evidence-based analysis. You’ll advise on regulatory requirements, price controls, performance frameworks, and assurance, collaborating with Principals and Directors while mentoring junior colleagues. The position emphasizes identifying improvement opportunities to reduce risk and boost client effectiveness. You will build relationships to influence strategic thinking and raise the Advisory Services profile, contributing to Stantec’s growth and mission.

Responsibilities
- Lead workstreams within larger engagements or handle smaller assignments independently, producing evidence-based regulatory analysis and advice.
- Advise on regulatory requirements, price controls, performance frameworks, and assurance.
- Support the development of junior colleagues and collaborate with Principals and Directors.
- Identify wider improvement opportunities to reduce risk and improve client effectiveness and efficiency.
- Build internal and external relationships to influence client strategy and raise the profile of Advisory Services.
Key requirements
- Experience in a regulated sector or regulatory consulting (utilities preferred)
- Good understanding of regulatory frameworks, price controls, or performance and incentive regimes
- Experience supporting price reviews or revenue-setting processes
- Familiarity with assurance, audit, or governance concepts
- Understanding of benchmarking or performance measurement
- Experience facilitating workshops or supporting senior stakeholder discussions
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work with data and evidence
- Excellent written communication for regulator- or board-facing documents
- Ability to manage tasks and priorities across multiple workstreams
