Overview
In this Legal Counsel role, you will provide pragmatic, business-focused legal guidance across the lifecycle of renewable energy projects. You’ll work with commercial, finance, and technical teams to support project development, construction, and asset acquisitions, helping manage risk and inform strategic decisions. The role offers exposure to transactions, due diligence, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced energy business. You will contribute to delivering complex solar, wind, battery storage, and emerging technologies initiatives, shaping how projects progress toward execution.

Responsibilities
- Advise on renewable energy and infrastructure projects, focusing on UK construction and asset acquisitions
- Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial and project agreements
- Support M&A and project acquisition activity
- Provide legal input on regulatory, commercial, and operational matters
- Manage legal risk and contribute to strategy
- Lead or support due diligence processes
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external counsel
Key requirements
- Qualified lawyer with ~2–4 years PQE
- Experience in construction, projects, infrastructure, energy, or commercial law (private practice or in-house)
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills
- Commercially minded with pragmatic approach to risk
- Confident working with senior stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
