Overview
In this role you safeguard product quality, food safety and regulatory compliance across the manufacturing site. You will lead the technical function, drive improvements in standards and processes, and support audits and customer requirements. You collaborate with operations to maintain a hygienic, compliant environment and strengthen the technical culture through training and guidance. This position combines hands-on quality leadership with strategic risk management in a global FMCG context.

Responsibilities
- Maintain high food safety, legality, quality and product integrity through robust procedures and controls
- Support accreditation and audits (BRCGS and customer audits) and ensure readiness
- Develop and maintain traceability to meet regulatory requirements
- Lead pest management and maintain a hygienic manufacturing environment
- Oversee product testing and environmental monitoring to control contamination
- Manage customer complaints, perform root-cause investigations and implement CAPA
- Deliver food safety, hygiene and quality training to site colleagues
- Monitor site performance and emerging risks, taking proactive action
- Collaborate with operations to provide practical technical guidance and ensure compliance
- Lead QA and Hygiene teams, ensuring routine checks and monitoring are performed
- Manage non-conformances from identification to closure with robust corrective actions
- Challenge processes to ensure continuous adherence to safety and quality standards
- Coordinate the internal audit programme with scheduling, documentation and follow-up
- Promote strong health and safety standards and support safety initiatives
Key requirements
- Strong technical knowledge in a food manufacturing environment
- Solid understanding of food safety, legality, quality and compliance requirements
- HACCP Level 3 or above
- Food Safety and Hygiene qualification Level 3 or higher
- Good working knowledge of HACCP, VACCP and TACCP
- Proven ability to lead, coach and develop technical teams
- Confident communicator with a practical, solutions-focused approach
- Proactive, strong work ethic and ability to manage competing priorities
- SAP experience would be beneficial
