Project Engineer

Overview

In this role you will oversee a portfolio of small capital maintenance projects across civil engineering, MEICA and water infrastructure. You will drive delivery of planned and reactive maintenance, coordinating multidisciplinary activities and managing supply chain partners. You’ll promote health and safety, monitor performance and optimise delivery through effective reporting. This is a hybrid, permanent opportunity that supports client stakeholders and operational teams to deliver reliable water network infrastructure at scale.

Responsibilities

• Oversee whole-life project delivery from design to handover
• Lead delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across the water network
• Coordinate civil, MEICA and other multidisciplinary works
• Ensure supply chain partners meet framework and project requirements
• Promote health and safety culture and incident prevention
• Maintain commercial focus by reviewing scope and delivery strategies
• Build and sustain relationships with client stakeholders and project personnel
• Monitor performance, identify risks early and ensure accurate reporting

Key requirements

• Experience managing multidisciplinary projects including civil engineering and MEICA in the water sector
• Proven track record of delivering projects in dynamic, regulated environments
• Understanding of construction contracts
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Knowledge of project reporting, risk management and supply chain coordination
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, document control systems and Primavera
• HNC, HND or degree in a relevant engineering discipline
• SMSTS qualification or IOSH Managing Safely
