Overview

In this role you will lead the security automation function within LSEG’s Cyber Security Operations, directing automation initiatives, case management, and DevSecOps practices. You’ll drive AI-enabled security capabilities to enhance analysis and accelerate response, while shaping a multi-year automation strategy. You will mentor a diverse team, balancing hands-on engineering with strategic leadership to deliver transformational outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Lead design and delivery of security automation capabilities and alert handling workflows
  • Own and evolve the security case management platform for stakeholders
  • Oversee infrastructure, platforms, and engineering practices underpinning automation
  • Champion IaC, Configuration-as-Code, and DevSecOps with repeatable, tested deployments
  • Drive AI adoption in security operations (LLMs, Generative AI, RAG) to enhance analysis and response
  • Develop and maintain a multi-year automation strategy and roadmap
  • Define metrics and service health indicators for continuous improvement
  • Lead investigations and solve complex platform, integration, and automation challenges
  • Ensure security, compliance, resilience, and audit requirements are embedded in design and operations
  • Provide line management, mentoring, and development for security automation engineers
  • Balance hands-on engineering with strategic planning, partner engagement, and leadership

Key requirements

  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting SOAR platforms and automation workflows
  • Mentoring and developing engineers in inclusive, high-performing teams
  • Strong Python scripting and API integration skills
  • Experience with cloud security in AWS and/or Microsoft Azure
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps, IaC, CI/CD, automated testing, and configuration management
  • Experience managing enterprise security platforms
  • Understanding of security operations processes (alert triage, investigation, incident response)
  • Experience evaluating AI capabilities in operational environments (LLMs, Generative AI, AI agents, RAG)
  • Strong knowledge of system integration techniques, REST APIs, and alert-driven architectures
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
