Road Surfacing Operative (L2)

Overview

In this role you join a multi-skilled road surfacing team to deliver high-quality asphalt works on major highways projects. You will operate road surfacing plant, work with hot materials in live environments, and ensure safety and compliance on site. Responsibilities

• Operate road surfacing plant and equipment (pavers, rollers, tractors, chippers)
• Work with hot coated materials on live highways environments
• Lay coated materials to specifications and BS tolerances
• Carry out daily plant checks and basic maintenance
• Maintain excellent housekeeping on site
• Promote safe working practices and address unsafe behaviours
• Support zero-harm culture and site compliance

Key requirements

• Previous asphalt laying and road surfacing experience
• Proven ability to operate surfacing plant with relevant tickets
• Experience on larger infrastructure or motorway projects
• CSCS card (preferred)
• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to work independently and in a gang
• Good communication and proactive hands-on attitude
• Flexible working hours and locations
