Overview

In this role you will support the development and delivery of HSE policies for renewables projects, ensuring compliance and safe execution. You will work with contractors and engineers to implement safety and environmental plans, conduct site inspections, and drive continuous improvement in HSE performance. You will train workers, respond to incidents, and monitor risk across solar and wind farm sites. This position offers impact across Europe and the UK, contributing to safe, compliant project delivery in a decarbonised energy landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain HSE policies and procedures aligned with UK regs
  • Coordinate with contractors and engineers to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Create and apply Health & Safety and Environmental Plans plus Emergency Response Plans
  • Conduct site inspections and audits
  • Monitor project progress and report status to management
  • Maintain site risk assessments and ensure control measures during construction
  • Implement preventive and corrective actions at solar and wind farms
  • Coordinate and implement emergency procedures
  • Provide guidance on method statements, safe systems of work, and updated legislation
  • Define local HSE training plans and deliver training
  • Manage, monitor and analyse HSE performance data
  • Lead incident investigations and identify improvement actions
  • Identify hazards and control environmental risks
  • Contribute to initiatives promoting safety and environmental awareness
  • Review and validate HSE requirements in contracts during development

Key requirements

  • HSE experience in renewables, especially solar and wind
  • Strong understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 and on-site implementation
  • Experience developing and implementing safety and environmental procedures
  • Experience conducting site inspections and audits
  • Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 9001 management systems
  • Solid knowledge of UK HSE legislation and guidance for high-risk activities
  • Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety and NEBOSH General Certificate
