ITAM Technical Services Manager

Overview

As Asset Intelligence Technical Team Leader, you guide a high-performing ITAM-focused team, handling escalations and delivering technical consultancy for asset management tooling. You collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to keep clients up to date within SLAs, while driving service improvements and exploring new technology offerings. This role sits at the heart of Softcat’s Asset Intelligence Services, enabling scalable, customer-centric asset management solutions. You will shape how the team delivers value and partners with vendors to drive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage all technical/support escalations within the team
• Collaborate with senior vendor stakeholders to triage, escalate, and resolve client queries within SLAs
• Lead quarterly business reviews with strategic ITAM vendors and provide constructive feedback
• Stay at the forefront of new product technology and service offerings through vendor training and market research
• Drive process improvements and explore innovative ways of working

Key requirements

• Experience leading an IT services team, preferably in asset management
• Strong understanding of IT Asset Management technology and tooling
• Technical experience with Software Asset Management tools (Snow Software), ServiceNow, Xensam
• Excellent written and verbal communication across all stakeholder levels
• Self-sufficient, innovative, and capable of leading a team
