Engineering Industrial Placements 2027/28

Overview

In this 10-month industrial placement, you join MTCE to rotate through Testing, Analysis, Design, Production and Quality before joining a focused engineering department. You will contribute to OEM, motorsport and niche vehicle projects and gain end-to-end exposure across the engineering process. This is a hands-on, fast-paced environment where you can shape real-world automotive solutions. The role offers mentorship, department variety, and a path to world-class engineering experience in a global supplier setting.

Responsibilities

• participate in a rotational programme across Testing, Analysis, Design, Production and Quality
• join an engineering department for exposure to a wide range of projects
• contribute to OEM, motorsport and niche vehicle design solutions
• develop and validate design concepts using engineering tools
• document findings and present results to stakeholders
• adhere to company guidelines and procedures

Key requirements

• CAD literate
• ability to prove out design ideas using engineering tools
• conduct engineering calculations using MS Office and in-house tools
• excellent report writing and results interpretation, including presentations
• awareness of vehicle suspension and hydraulics
• passion for automotive or motorsport industries
• drive to achieve world-class results in a high-tempo environment
• flexibility to work on varied tasks
• ability to follow relevant guidelines and procedures
• experience of Siemens NX or Catia is advantageous but not required
