Overview

In this role you will strengthen quality management in an automotive/regulated manufacturing setting, driving root-cause analysis, CAPA, and risk-based improvements. You’ll work closely with internal teams and suppliers to ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and customer requirements, while advancing core quality tools and structured problem solving. You will also promote a proactive safety culture and contribute to ongoing process optimization and documentation updates. This position offers the chance to impact product quality, supplier performance, and customer satisfaction at Holywell.

Responsibilities

  • Promote proactive safety culture and resolve safety concerns
  • Participate in site safety activities and risk assessments
  • Maintain and improve QMS documentation (procedures, work instructions, PFMEAs, control plans)
  • Support IATF 16949 and CSRs compliance and audits
  • Conduct internal audits from planning to close-out
  • Lead and support problem-solving activities (8D, PPS, Kaizen, A3) with timely reporting
  • Contribute to CAPA activities with root-cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Monitor quality metrics (PPM, customer complaints, cost of poor quality, yield loss) and drive improvements
  • Manage non-conforming material from containment to disposition
  • Lead/develop core quality tools (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA)
  • Support APQP activities and ensure timely PPAP submissions
  • Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal departments on quality issues
  • Support customer audits, visits, and external assessments

Key requirements

  • Experience within a certified QMS (IATF 16949 and/or ISO 9001)
  • Automotive or similar manufacturing environment experience (3+ years)
  • Working knowledge of automotive core tools (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA)
  • Structured problem-solving experience (8D, PPS, Kaizen, A3)
  • Audit experience (internal/external standards such as IATF 16949 / ISO 9001)
  • Supplier and/or customer quality experience
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, standards, and specifications
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office; exposure to Minitab, SAP or similar)
  • Degree, HND, or equivalent in an engineering discipline (Desirable)
  • Lean / Six Sigma training or experience (Desirable)
  • VDA knowledge (Desirable)
