Overview

Join a world leader in semiconductor and photonic device manufacturing as a Process Engineer. You will contribute to new process development, continuous improvement, NPI, and scrap/cycle-time reduction in a state-of-the-art fab. You’ll work cross-functionally to transfer technology into manufacturing and maintain process capability in a fast-paced environment. This role offers meaningful impact on yield, efficiency, and supply continuity, with opportunities across multiple levels.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and continuously improve production processes
  • Develop and qualify new semiconductor manufacturing processes
  • Analyze process and equipment data using SPC, Six Sigma, and statistical methods to drive improvement
  • Perform equipment qualification and cross-qualification to ensure supply and reduce cycle times
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, operating procedures, and training materials
  • Ensure high equipment availability through control and monitoring
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing to improve performance and efficiency
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Manufacturing, and R&D for new product introduction and tech transfer
  • Support fault finding, recovery, and performance improvement of process equipment
  • Lead or participate in yield improvement, defect reduction, and cost-reduction initiatives
  • Meet individual and team objectives in a fast-paced environment
  • Work in a cleanroom performing wet etching with safety protocols
  • Utilise software applications including semiconductor manufacturing and data analysis systems
  • Adhere to health, safety, and environmental procedures

Key requirements

  • HNC/HND, Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in a related discipline (or equivalent industrial experience)
  • Experience in semiconductor, photonics, compound semiconductor, MEMS, optoelectronics, silicon photonics, or related manufacturing environments is desirable
  • Knowledge of SPC, DOE, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and root cause analysis
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Competent PC user (Microsoft Office)
  • Knowledge of photonic integrated circuit manufacture is an advantage
  • Experience with MES is advantageous
