In this role, you will lead cost management across the project lifecycle for high-profile infrastructure programs in water and environment. You’ll work within the Buildings & Places Infrastructure team to deliver value-driven cost control for clients like Anglian Water and the Environment Agency while collaborating with cross-functional professionals. You’ll influence outcomes through early cost planning, procurement, value engineering, and post-contract reporting, shaping the financial success of major projects. Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of cost management from project inception to completion, including feasibility, cost planning, procurement, tender docs, value engineering, risk management, disputes, and final accounts
- Maintain high professional standards in client interactions and uphold the firm’s profile
- Drive performance and technical excellence through effective communication and active participation in technical networks
- Foster strong client relationships and promote the firm’s premium services in the construction sector
- Support internal team development and mentor junior staff on complex projects
- Identify marketing opportunities and escalate potential leads to Directors and Business Development to grow the portfolio
Key requirements
- Significant, proven experience in Cost Management/Quantity Surveying on large-scale infrastructure projects
- Chartered status with RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of NEC4 contracts, especially PSC and ECC
- Experience delivering cost/ commercial management within integrated, multi-organization teams
- Experience working with or within client organizations; stakeholder influence and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage and influence key client stakeholders to grow workload
