Overview
In this role, you support the Futures Mission Control team to keep trading systems reliable, scalable, and efficiently operated. You work closely with trading, sales, and tech teams to reduce toil, triage incidents, and improve production tooling for electronic trading. You will influence, design, and implement improvements to our trading products with a strong emphasis on automation and operational excellence. This is a fast-paced, high-stakes environment where your work directly enables market-facing services and client execution.
Responsibilities
- Manage technical and operational risk for a fast-paced, multi-asset electronic trading business
- Measure and monitor availability, latency, and health of production trading services
- Manage configuration across production environments and drive safe deployments using Git-based workflows and SDLC tooling
- Design, develop, and maintain tools to automate manual tasks and improve efficiency
- Support pre-release engineering through capacity planning and release reviews
- Safely deploy certified code and new functionalities into live trading environments
- Collaborate with trading desks, quantitative strategists, technology teams, and external vendors
- Drive continuous improvement to stability, performance, and disaster-recovery readiness
Key requirements
- 2+ years in an SRE, Production Engineering, or DevOps role
- Hands-on experience with Java, C++ or other OO language
- Scripting skills (Python, Bash)
- Analytical and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise
- Proven experience supporting high-availability production platforms
- Solid understanding of SDLC and Git
- Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, FIX)
- Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
