Overview

As a MEP Testing & Commissioning Engineer, you will coordinate the testing and commissioning scope for the MEP works within the HS2 Main Works. You will develop and oversee test documentation, support energisation and staged commissioning, and ensure work progresses in line with contract, programme and client requirements. You will uphold HS2 safety, environment and PR standards and collaborate with Package Managers to deliver commissioning outcomes. This role offers impact on a landmark infrastructure project and a chance to shape system integration and handover processes. Join a major JV delivering 26 miles of tunnels and associated assets and help drive safe, efficient completion.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate testing and commissioning requirements across procurement, design, construction methodology, and programme for the MEP scope
  • Lead development of Test Documentation by suppliers and execute MEP testing and commissioning activities per HS2 Commissioning Strategy
  • Support point-to-point testing, energisation, system proving, witnessing and staged commissioning
  • Ensure progress complies with contract, programme, budget and client requirements
  • Implement and assure compliance with Health, Safety, Environment and Public relations requirements within scope
  • Support Package Managers with commissioning delivery
  • Maintain contemporaneous records of work by Subcontractors and issue for review

Key requirements

  • Experience on a major infrastructure project from design through handover
  • Experience in a similar role delivering Testing and commissioning and systems integration
  • Strong leadership, communication and conflict management skills
  • HNC / HND / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Relevant commissioning experience in engineering or a similar regulated industry
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety, testing standards and commissioning processes
  • Experience producing and managing commissioning documentation and handover packs
