Overview
In this role you will drive private-wire PPA origination and commercial strategy within the UK and beyond. You will lead business development, manage senior client relationships, and steer negotiations to PPA execution, shaping a high-performing commercial function. The position offers high visibility, cross-functional collaboration, and direct input into market direction. You will work closely with leadership to seize high-value opportunities and accelerate deal flow in a fast-growing energy platform.
Responsibilities
- Shape and influence commercial strategy in the UK and across the Group with the CEO and leadership
- Conduct market analysis to identify high-value opportunities and define customer segments
- Partner with project and land teams to align site selection with commercial priorities
- Source and qualify leads, manage full sales cycle from first engagement to contract signature
- Create tailored proposals and navigate commercial negotiations through to PPA execution
- Maintain primary relationships with stakeholders throughout the sales and project lifecycle
- Cross-functionally collaborate with development, legal, finance and technical teams
- Coordinate with external stakeholders including advisors, grid operators and regulators
- Mentor junior commercial team members to accelerate deal flow
Key requirements
- Demonstrated business development or sales experience in renewable energy or power sector
- Strong understanding of UK energy regulation, revenue models and contracting frameworks (PPAs)
- Ability to interpret commercial, technical and regulatory information for investment decisions
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
