Overview
You will join a leading main civil contractor on a major Network Rail station upgrade, focusing on M&E packages. In this role you will manage multi-discipline commercial work, collaborating with the Commercial Team to maximise value and ensure timely payments. You’ll influence final accounts, cash flow, and sub-contractor settlements while supporting site teams and the client on commercial matters. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape a prestigious rail project and develop as a senior QS.
Responsibilities
- Present applications for payment with contractual entitlements
- Ensure payments are received per contract terms
- Supply estimate/tender information to the client
- Lead final accounts negotiation and settlement of entitlements
- Deliver weekly cost/value data, delivery schedules and KPI reporting
- Prepare Monthly Cost/Value Reconciliations and Final Cost/Value Forecasts
- Prepare forward work schedules and cash flow projections
- Manage subcontractor financials through to Final Accounts
- Prepare documentation for variations, claims and additional payments
- Provide commercial support to site/contracts teams and procurement
- Liaise with the client on all commercial matters and supporting information
Key requirements
- Formal qualification in a relevant field (HNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management)
- Experience with M&E packages; rail sector experience not required as training is provided
- Proven background as a Quantity Surveyor within a contracting environment
