Overview

As an HV Electrical Design Engineer in Ramboll’s Critical Systems team, you will design robust, efficient electrical systems for infrastructure and buildings, aligning with client needs and sustainability goals. You’ll work with senior engineers to guide projects, apply current standards, and verify designs through site assessments. The role emphasizes innovative energy-efficient solutions and cross-team collaboration to deliver cohesive project outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Design HV/LV power distribution, standby power, UPS, and Earthing for infrastructure and building projects
  • Produce electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations using ETAP and Revit
  • Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and regulations
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and clients throughout the lifecycle
  • Incorporate sustainable design principles and pursue energy-efficient, innovative solutions
  • Engage with clients to understand needs and present concepts and updates
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to deliver integrated, on-time, on-budget projects
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive team environment

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Professional qualifications (e.g., IEng or working towards Chartership)
  • Experience in electrical design within power or building services
  • Proficiency in Revit, ETAP, and Trimble
  • Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, standards and codes
