Pensions Investment Oversight Manager

Overview

In this role, you oversee governance, valuation, and reporting of pension asset investments to ensure regulatory and accounting compliance. You work with external providers, auditors, and internal stakeholders to deliver accurate investment-related financial information and improve oversight processes. You will support corporate and pension scheme accounting, and drive continuous improvement across reporting controls. This position sits in the small, dynamic Pensions team within Finance, partnering with senior stakeholders and outsourced providers to maintain a substantial portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Oversee investment manager and global custodian services and contribute to KPI-driven reporting improvements
• Ensure investment asset reporting meets stakeholders’ needs for corporate and pension scheme accounting and asset valuations for reporting or modelling
• Assist with disclosures in the BAE Systems plc accounts and pension scheme accounts
• Liaise with external auditors on investment asset reporting and disclosure requirements
• Oversee valuation processes and controls to validate private markets statements in line with reporting requirements
• Manage stakeholder queries on investment assets and coordinate with team members to deliver on requests
• Understand provider processes and collaborate to streamline and enhance these processes

Key requirements

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
• Experience of investment and pension scheme accounting
• Knowledge of investment asset classes (equities, property, private markets, derivatives) and related accounting and disclosure requirements
