Overview
As Legal Counsel in London, you will support SS&C’s business units across multiple disciplines and EMEA jurisdictions. You will review, draft and negotiate commercial contracts with clients and suppliers, while ensuring governance and risk controls. You will advise HR on staff disputes and contribute to dispute resolution and corporate activity when needed. This role offers a hybrid work setup, with opportunities to influence legal operations and adopt new technology. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to enable business growth in a regulated, AI-enabled environment.

Responsibilities
- Review, draft and negotiate commercial contracts with clients, suppliers and counterparties
- Assist with governance and legal risk management, including enforcement of group policies and contract-signature procedures
- Provide HR-related legal advice and support on staff disputes and grievances
- Offer dispute resolution guidance for company vs third parties
- Assist with mergers, acquisitions, restructuring and other corporate activity when required
Key requirements
- Admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales
- NQ to 3 years PQE experience
- Ability to negotiate and draft commercial contracts and set precedents/processes
- Excellent communication skills and pride in your work
- Strong organization to manage heavy workload and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to build trusted relationships with internal clients (sales/commercial teams)
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and legal databases; other suite applications advantageous
- Interest in adopting new technology; openness to changing ways of working
- Familiarity with financial sector law including data protection
