Finance Manager ACCA

Overview

In this Finance Manager role, you will lead a scalable finance function at a mission-driven company. You’ll manage core financial operations, cash flow, and forecasting while developing robust controls. You will mentor a small team and collaborate with cross-functional partners to support growth. The role invites hands-on problem solving in a dynamic, changing environment. You’ll help shape the future of finance through system improvements and strategic financial partnering.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial meetings and present guidance to leadership
• Oversee day-to-day accounting, cash management, and ledger integrity
• Develop and document financial controls and processes
• Manage forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning in collaboration with Finance Business Partner
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis and support quarterly investor reports
• Coordinate VAT returns, audits, and HMRC submissions
• Partner with People, Commercial, and Operational teams on cost control and procurement
• Drive system integrations and automation to scale financial operations
• Mentor and develop the finance team and promote a collaborative culture

Key requirements

• Qualified chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with several years post-qualification experience
• Experience in a high-growth startup or fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of UK accounting standards, VAT, and financial controls
• Proficiency in accounting systems and Excel/Google Sheets
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance or related field
