Overview
Senior Structural Engineer to lead small‑to‑medium structural projects within Arcadis UK Structural team, focusing on sustainable design and resilience. You will collaborate with cross‑disciplinary peers and oversee design, analysis, and digital modelling while mentoring junior staff. The role supports client delivery across water, energy and building sectors, with emphasis on innovative solutions and reducing embedded CO2. You’ll contribute to bids, budgets and risk control, and shape career development within a global design centre network.
Responsibilities
- Lead small to medium structural projects and sections of larger schemes
- Perform and supervise structural analysis, design, and digital modelling
- Prepare design models, calculations and reports in line with procedures
- Mentor and lead junior engineers and technicians within project teams
- Collaborate with geotechnical, hydraulic, M&E and environment peers to integrate structural inputs
- Coordinate with Arcadis Global Design Centres for project delivery
- Support bidding, cost, schedule, and risk assessments (reputational, commercial, CDM)
- Pursue career development opportunities within Arcadis
Key requirements
- Honours degree and Chartered/Incorporated status with ICE or IStructE (or ready for Professional review in 2026)
- Experience in structural analysis and design for concrete and steel to Eurocodes
- Proficiency with ROBOT, TEDDS, Masterseries or similar software
- Experience with 3D digital software (REVIT, Navisworks or similar)
- Design experience of civil structures, buildings and soil/structure interaction
- Experience leading design teams and coordinating inputs from technicians and juniors
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for innovative design and low embedded CO2 solutions
- Experience with independent structural inspections and reporting on site
