Overview
You join the UK subsidiary of a leading construction machinery group during a phase of scaling its direct operations. You will own day-to-day finance tasks and support UK and HQ reporting, enabling accurate financial visibility across the business. You will engage with Sales, Procurement, Logistics, Operations and HR to drive process improvements and cost control. This role offers international exposure and chances to shape finance processes in a fast-growing environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and support P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and management reporting for UK management and Headquarters
- Manage daily finance operations: bank reconciliations, AP/AR, supplier invoices, payments and employee expenses
- Support month-end and year-end closing, including journals, accruals, reconciliations and schedules
- Assist UK tax and statutory compliance including VAT with external accountants and advisers
- Contribute to budgets, forecasts and cost monitoring, flag variances and identify cost efficiencies
- Prepare audit documentation, liaise with auditors and strengthen internal controls and finance processes
- Develop and improve finance processes and internal controls, ensuring proper approvals and risk management
- Collaborate with Sales, HR, Procurement, Logistics, Operations and Headquarters on reporting and finance-related projects
Key requirements
- Degree in Accounting or Finance
- ACCA (qualified or part-qualified) is an advantage
- Min 3 years post-grad experience in UK finance or accounting (bookkeeping, reconciliations, month-end)
- Working knowledge of UK accounting and tax requirements including VAT
- Experience with external accountants, tax advisers and auditors
- Experience in an international group subsidiary with reporting to foreign HQ is a plus
- Strong Excel skills and experience with an ERP or accounting system
