Overview
As a Project Officer in the Design & Delivery Team, you will help deliver Manchester City Council’s capital programme through professional construction services. You will operate within a multidisciplinary team, applying contract administration and project management to coordinate with contractors, residents, and agencies. You’ll use IT tools to manage information and support continuous service improvement. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to shape public works in a diverse city and collaborate across stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Support delivery of the council’s capital programme with professional construction services
- Perform contract administration and project management tasks
- Liaise effectively with contractors, residents and internal/external agencies
- Manage, update and share information daily using MS Word, Excel and other software
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and contribute to continuous improvement
- Demonstrate knowledge of building construction, regulations and planning applications
Key requirements
- Sound working knowledge of building construction, building regulations and planning applications
- Qualified to HND, HNC or equivalent, or degree in building construction related subject with at least 2 years’ experience
- Desirable membership of RICS, CIOB or equivalent upcoming corporate membership
