No.1 Site Manager (Main Contractor) | 50,000 – 55,000 + package | Permanent | Essex / Nationwide

Overview

In this role you will lead on-site delivery as a No.1 Site Manager for a reputable main contractor operating across the UK. You will oversee projects from inception to completion, across varied sectors, ensuring quality, safety and timely progress. You will coordinate with a visiting Contracts Manager and be comfortable working away from home. The opportunity focuses on hands-on leadership, effective planning, and delivering value on projects from 1m to 10m.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day on-site management of construction projects from start to finish
• Coordinate with the Contracts Manager on a weekly basis
• Plan on-site activities and short-term programmes and communicate to workforce and management
• Monitor progress and implement corrective actions as needed
• Manage the project on site with a cost-effective approach in line with tender strategy
• Maintain compliance with health & safety on site
• Provide leadership to site team and subcontractors
• Ensure project quality and timely delivery across new build, refurbishment and fit-out works

Key requirements

• Track record as No.1 Site Manager for a reputable Main Contractor
• Experience across varied sectors and multi-type construction projects (1m–10m)
• Strong on-site leadership, planning and progress monitoring
• Proficient in health & safety management on site
• Ability to plan, communicate and execute programmes
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certification
• Willingness to work away from home
