Overview
In this role you will contribute to designing sustainable, well-crafted structures from concept to completion within a design-led Bristol team. You will collaborate with architects, clients and contractors to deliver diverse projects across the South West, while growing towards Chartered status. The position combines creative problem-solving with hands-on project delivery in a supportive, collaborative studio. This is an opportunity to shape the Bristol office’s development while honing engineering ingenuity.

Responsibilities
- Take ownership of projects from concept through to construction
- Contribute to innovative, sustainable and well-crafted designs
- Liaise with architects, clients and contractors in a professional manner
- Participate in design meetings and project delivery
- Collaborate with senior colleagues and support office expansion
- Work on a diverse portfolio across residential, commercial, heritage and community projects
Key requirements
- 4–5 years’ structural design experience within a UK design consultancy
- Proficiency in steel, concrete, timber and masonry design
- Experience liaising with architects, clients and contractors
- Ability to deliver designs from concept to construction
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Proficiency in design software (Tekla, Tedds, MasterSeries or similar)
- Chartered with IStructE or ICE (preferred but not essential)
- MEng or BEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
