Senior Mechanical Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead the mechanical design of water and wastewater projects from concept through commissioning, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safe, compliant solutions. You’ll engage with clients and drive practical, efficient designs that meet programme and budget targets, contributing to projects that positively impact the environment and communities. Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design for water and wastewater projects through outline and detailed design, construction, commissioning and handover, including P&IDs, valve schedules and pump calculations
• Coordinate with Electrical, Civil, Geotech and Process designers to ensure on-programme, on-budget and quality-aligned outputs
• Produce safe designs and actively design out risk under CDM 2015 requirements
• Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient and safe solutions across design and build stages
• Engage with clients, managing relationships with a one-team approach to achieving aims
• Support and mentor the mechanical engineering team, identifying resource needs and developing engineers’ skills

Key requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• CEng Chartership with a relevant Engineering Institution
• Experience delivering high-quality outputs in line with design, quality and safety standards
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel across the operational region
• Water/wastewater experience
