In this role you help drive the cost management and commercial success of major infrastructure projects. You will work within a collaborative team to monitor costs, forecast budgets, and manage contract changes, ensuring governance and value delivery. You’ll engage with clients and contractors to align deliverables with programme objectives and KPIs, shaping outcomes through proactive commercial leadership. Responsibilities
- Build and maintain client, colleague and stakeholder relationships
- Administer contracts in line with project objectives and policies
- Provide accurate cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting to completion within budget
- Monitor cost variance and cash flow; ensure timely contractor applications
- Collaborate with client and contractor teams on programme performance, cost control and value engineering
- Manage contract changes ensuring governance and best practice
- Drive forecast and budget accuracy improvements
- Provide commercial guidance to stakeholders
- Negotiate and settle final accounts
- Lead people and commissions as needed
Key requirements
- Proven cost / commercial management experience
- NEC3 contracts experience (Option C – Target Cost)
- Post-contract administration
- Experience on major programmes and infrastructure projects (rail, air, marine/ports, utilities, highways)
- Experience in leading and managing teams
- MRICS preferred
